I picked this paper up while walking the dogs this morning, balled it up and was putting it the trash when I saw the words “Chlorine dioxide” and decided to read more. I can’t tell you how surprised I was to read that this miracle “natural resource”cures and prevents deadly diseases like cancer and diabetes, viruses like COVID, heart disease, parasites, several mental illnesses (not all, sadly), multiple sclerosis AND the common cold!!
Back in the real world, what is chlorine dioxide really used for?
Chlorine dioxide was discovered in 1811 by Sir Humphry Davy and has been widely used for bleaching purposes in the paper industry, and for treatment of drinking water.[6] More recent developments have extended its application into food processing, disinfection of premises and vehicles, mold eradication, air disinfection and odor control, treatment of swimming pools, dental applications, and wound cleansing.
Back to crazy person Jim Humble:
It was widely used for 199 years until the TRILLION DOLLAR MEDICAL INDUSTRY bribed the FDA in 2010.
Well, the FDA banned a specific company in 2010 from selling it for medical purposes after people died, it turns out (you’ll never guess whose company it was, I’ll bet):
If you’re drinking “Miracle” or “Master” Mineral Solution or other sodium chlorite products, stop now. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has received many reports that these products, sold online as “treatments,” have made consumers sick.
The FDA first warned consumers about the products in 2010. But they are still being promoted on social media and sold online by many independent distributors. The agency strongly urges consumers not to purchase or use these products.
Now the solution is being touted as a miracle cure for COVID:

I decided to explore the Jim Humble link and found this charlatan is the one promoting the MIRACLE substance called “MMS” (from his website) mentioned above in the FDA warning.
MMS is a 22.4% solution of sodium chlorite in distilled water, when mixed with any one of several food grade acids it produces chlorine dioxide which is highly effective in eliminating toxins and disease pathogens in the body. It does this by a process of oxidation.
If you’re wondering about oxidation and why haven’t you heard of this wonderful thing, this is what oxidation does to apples. Doesn’t seem like that’s a good result.

But what really set me off was this part on Jim’s website FAQ on MMS, which directly contradicts what the paper in the photo says above:
Many people say MMS cures this or that. But in fact, MMS does not cure disease. MMS kills pathogens and destroys (oxidizes) poisons. When pathogens and poisons in the body are reduced or eliminated, then the body can function properly and thereby heal. The body heals the body. MMS helps to line things up so the body can do just that.
Any time large amounts of pathogens are being killed off in the body quicker than the body is able to eliminate the toxins that the dead pathogens produce, it may cause nausea, vomiting, headaches, diarrhea or other distress, such as excessive tiredness. This is called a Herxheimer reaction and is common when going through a detoxification program and the healing process. Please note that although the experience may not make you feel particularly good for a time, experiencing a Herxheimer reaction is usually a sign that healing is taking place. Other than that there are no side effects except to get well. Having said this, the idea is not to get sicker than you already feel. If one will follow the Three Golden Rules of MMS, as outlined in the MMS Health Recovery Guidebook, a Herxheimer reaction can be greatly minimized and/or avoided all together. On another note, the above mentioned discomforts pale in comparison to some side effects of chemotherapy and other pharmaceuticals.

Miracle Mineral Solution Causes Severe Reactions
Drinking any of these chlorine dioxide products can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and symptoms of severe dehydration. Some product labels claim that vomiting and diarrhea are common after ingesting the product. They even maintain that such reactions are evidence that the product is working. That claim is false.
Moreover, in general, the more concentrated the product, the more severe the reactions. The FDA has received reports of consumers who have suffered from severe vomiting, severe diarrhea, life-threatening low blood pressure caused by dehydration, and acute liver failure after drinking these products. If you have had a negative reaction to any of them, consult a health care professional as soon as possible.
Did I mention that old Jim doesn’t sell the MMS anymore, but he tells people how to make it? His profit making comes from his book called “ MMS Health Recovery Guidebook” , which he says “doesn’t delve much into the science of MMS” :
The MMS Health Recovery Guidebook does not delve into much of the science of MMS, but it is written to simply help people know how to recover health with MMS. Jim says one does not necessarily need to know how MMS works—you just need to know how to use MMS.
And in the next paragraph he admits it’s all a hoax (I assume from some settlement with the FDA):
We do not claim that there is medical proof. There is however, proof for those who care to check and observe. We allude to the fact that we have anecdotal evidence. Some scientifically trained people try to discount our evidence because it is anecdotal. When one has three or four anecdotal confirmations that may be somewhat questionable, but when the confirmations are in the thousands upon thousands, then that changes the case. Even science tells us that when there are thousands of cases of anecdotal evidence there is likely to be some correlation.
To take or not to take MMS is a personal decision. Each individual must take responsibility for their own health. Jim cannot take responsibility for any adverse detoxification effects or consequences resulting from the use of any suggestions he may give. None of the MMS protocols can cure an illness, or even supply nutrients for healing the human body. He does not claim these methods cure. MMS protocols will kill most disease pathogens and oxidize various poisons in the human body. Then the body is able to heal itself.
Here we are in the 21st Century and we’re still dealing with Snake Oil salesmen.
