Good morning gardeners, and welcome to the post Thanksgiving edition of SMGB! Hope everyone had a wonderful and delicious Thanksgiving with family and friends and political discussions were kept to a minimum in the interest of world peace. :)
Now it’s time to prepare for winter!
The outdoor garden has been put to bed and I await the blooming of the orchids in January and February. Meanwhile my Christmas cactus, as always, manages to be in full bloom every Thanksgiving.

It’s time to put out the bird feeders and welcome all the overwintering birds.

It’s time to put up the Christmas lights and make sure the astronauts in the Space Station can see your house from space:

Time to gather all your lists and start Christmas shopping for all those special people (and those special pets!)
Time to drag out Granny’s best recipes for Christmas goodies! Remember, it will never be as good as Granny made it!
So, did everyone survive Thanksgiving with Uncle Bill?
