Good morning, gardeners! Long time no see, though I try to get in and look at everyone’s comments every weekend!
So there isn’t much going on in the garden yet as far as picture worthy blooms yet, the roses are a bit wilted looking from 3 days over 90 degrees last week, but I’ve been getting plenty of blooms cut to bring in the house!

I haven’t even made a second trip to the nursery yet to stock up on my petunias yet, though I plan to rectify that tomorrow! So even my front planters look a bit bare.
We’re getting warmed up for tornado season, but being west of the dry line (where dry warm air from the SW desert meets cool moist air coming up from the Gulf of Mexico) right now means the supercells start forming over us and grow into monsters as they move east. I was driving home from work the other day and got some pictures as one of these storms started forming:

After about an hour, the storm (moving east and away from me) had morphed into one giant supercell that stretched across the horizon:

Finally it got too far away to photograph, but about 80 miles east it started forming tornados (12 reported, 8 confirmed). This is a picture from a storm chaser of the same storm above at it’s most powerful:

Honestly, it’s just amazing the power these things generate from heat and cool air!
So hopefully the next time I diary for SMGB, I will have some flowers to share, this is almost embarrassing for me!
Have a peaceful and reflective Memorial Day Weekend, everyone.
